Raiders beat Packers in thrilling Monday night game

The Las Vegas Raiders ended their three-game losing streak and their eight-game losing streak against the Green Bay Packers with a 17-13 win on Monday night at Allegiant Stadium. The Raiders’ defense was the star of the show, forcing three turnovers and holding the Packers to their lowest point total of the season.

The Raiders’ defensive line dominated the Packers’ offensive line, sacking Jordan Love four times and pressuring him throughout the game. Defensive end Maxx Crosby had two sacks and an interception, while defensive tackle Solomon Thomas had a sack and a forced fumble. Cornerback Amik Robertson sealed the win with an interception in the final minute of the game.

The Raiders’ offense was not as explosive as usual, but it did enough to get the win. Quarterback Derek Carr completed 18 of 28 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown, while running back Josh Jacobs ran for 76 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Davante Adams, who played against his former team for the first time, had four catches for 51 yards.

The Packers were without star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who missed his second straight game due to COVID-19. Love struggled in his second career start, completing 19 of 34 passes for 189 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions. Running back Aaron Jones was the bright spot for the Packers, rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown.

The Raiders improved to 4-2 and moved into a tie for first place in the AFC West with the Los Angeles Chargers. The Packers fell to 5-1 and remained atop the NFC North. The Raiders will host the New England Patriots next week, while the Packers will visit the Kansas City Chiefs.
