Joran van der Sloot confesses to killing Natalee Holloway in plea deal

Joran van der Sloot has admitted to killing Natalee Holloway on a beach in Aruba and dumping her body in the ocean, according to a court filing. He made the confession as part of a plea deal in a US federal case, where he is charged with extorting money from Natalee’s mother in exchange for information about her daughter’s death.

He will serve his 20-year sentence in Peru, where he is already in prison for murdering another woman, Stephany Flores, in 2010.

Natalee Holloway was an 18-year-old from Alabama who went missing during a high school graduation trip to Aruba. Her remains have never been found and she was declared legally dead in 2012.

Joran van der Sloot has been the prime suspect in her case for years, but he was never charged due to lack of evidence. He has given several conflicting statements and false leads to the authorities and the media.
